At SmartLens, we start with and end with data. Data is everything. As a UI engineer at SmartLens, you will be a part of our engineering team, working with our data scientists, data engineers, products and business. You are in very early stage of the company, and your decision and effort will make significant impact on the future of the company.

In this role, you will have ownership and responsibility of how we communicate with our clients through our data visualization and web UI. You will get hands-on experience on not only developing effective, responsive and attractive UI, but also brainstorming the storytelling, designing new visualizations from scratch, and directly getting clients' feedbacks. Different clients often have very different UI needs, and people in different roles also demand different UI requirements. Your challenge is extended to realize those various UI needs and even go beyond their expectations.

Responsibilities

• Own all UI aspects of SmartLens web application that is used by our clients every day.

• Own internal web application.

• Constantly innovate UI with new tools and technologies.

• Closely working with our data engineers and scientists to realize visualization of our data analysis and intelligence.

• Involved and often lead a discussion of product design, especially from UI/UX perspective.

Qualifications

• Web technologies: HTML5, CSS3/Sass, React, Redux, Angular, Webpack, Node.js

• Visualization: Material Design, D3.js, Google Charts

• Programming languages: Javascript, Python

• Great if you have: AWS experience (e.g. ECS, RDS, SMS), Elasticsearch (e.g. how to query)
